After righting the wrongs of the wild American West, the famous Lone Ranger character would ride away on his horse, prompting the question, “Who was that masked man?”
In similar vein, our friends in Australia pose the question, “who is that company?” in a new video designed to make people realize they may not know Amway as well as they think they do.
Hosted by three-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer and Amway ambassador Libby Trickett, the video is already sparking conversation. Trickett’s accomplishments make her anything but incognito and now, the same is true for Australia and New Zealand’s 100,000 Amway business owners.

Just a stone’s throw from the British Museum, which hosts 6 million visitors per year, sits one of our favourite London attractions… the Amway Flagship Experience Center.
The Centre opened in May, and Marketing Week UK recently covered its role in a greater plan to educate consumers about Amway’s power brands and business opportunity. With a beauty styling bar and makeup play station, it’s Amway made fun and relevant to everyone from the Amway business owner to the curious passerby. There’s always a connection back to Amway’s business owners, as commissions from sales made at the Centre are attributed back to them.
This sort of brick-and-mortar approach to increasing brand awareness has worked for us in markets like Australia, China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and Turkey to name a few. Amway India is also planning to turn a number of distribution centers into showrooms.
In the United States and Canada, mobile brand experiences travel to high-profile events to take the story of Amway’s power brands to the masses.
But back to the UK, where the British Museum contains fragments of the seven wonders of the world, and just a few blocks away, the Amway Flagship Experience Center contains wonders all its own.

Our media blogger from Down Under (a.k.a. Kevin Lowe) is working the red carpet in Las Vegas this week for Amway’s 50th anniversary. Be sure to check out Kevin’s new Amway Australia blog as he interviews Amway leaders from around the world. Though, we hope he doesn’t mind that we borrowed at least one of his video clips—it was too good to pass up.
Dr. Sam Rehnborg (below) is president of the Nutrilite Health Institute and son of Nutrilite founder Carl F. Rehnborg. Nutrilite has been part of Amway since the beginning, and remains one of our best selling brands.
We’re glad you could make it, Dr. Sam. It wouldn’t be an anniversary celebration without you!
Kevin Lowe, PR lead for Amway of Australia and Amway New Zealand, is with us this week for the 50th anniversary celebration.
He just launched the official blog for his home markets and is busy capturing the tales of Amway leaders from around the world as they tour Amway World Headquarters here in Ada as well as surrounding Grand Rapids.
Welcome aboard, Kev!

Known as “Gilly” in the wildly popular sport of cricket, Adam Gilchrist has teamed up with Amway of Australia to provide special needs children with modified bikes, a program we blogged about last month.
Even ESPN picked it up. Gilly is that good.
Over to Jesse Hertstein and Kevin Lowe on our “One by One” blog for more details.

Riding a bicycle is no big deal for most kids, but for children with disabilities, it’s special. For these kids, Amway of Australia is making the dream become a reality.
Our affiliate there is a sponsor of the Freedom Wheels program which, in partnership with the Technical Aid to the Disabled charity, modifies standard push bikes to help kids with disabilities ride a bike for the first time. Through our One by One Campaign for Children, and the time and monetary support of our distributors there, we’ve been able to get the Freedom Wheels program up and running. As a result, bicycles have been redesigned and delivered to happy kids and their parents throughout the continent.
We were also pleased to see this make the March 17 print edition of The Daily Telegraph which gave us coverage across Australia. We hope to see plenty more.

Amway of Australia will donate $50,000 and a large quantity of personal care and cleaning products to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund.
Amway will also match donations (initially up to $10,000) by Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs) and support local IBOs affected by the bushfires.
From Michial Coldwell, general manager of Amway Australia:
I offer my condolences to all of the families of the victims. The Victorian bushfires have devastated many families. Our thoughts are with them at this terrible time.
Since the tragedy, I have been contacted by many people overseas. They are shocked by the devastation and their sympathies are with the people of Victoria.
Amway hopes this assistance will help local families and assist communities to rebuild.
