Our efforts to raise desperately needed funds for the victims of the January earthquake in Haiti have resulted in more than US$575,000 in cash donations and gifts from the company and our distributors, employees, customers and global affiliates.
In addition to the cash raised and given, we’ve donated hygiene kits, dispatched corporate jets to transport medical personnel and supplies, and worked with local organizations to assemble safe water storage containers and filtration systems for Haiti.
We thank those who have given of their time or money to help Haiti. But the situation for the survivors is still dire and more help will be needed.
There’s more work to be done to help Haiti recover and rebuild.

I wish to thank Amway for flying me and two other doctors back from Haiti the night of Tuesday, January 26. We were waiting in line (with about 100 other medical volunteers) to board the rear ramp of a U.S. military transport (C-17 Globemaster) in Port-au-Prince, when an Amway pilot shouted over to us, “who here’s from Michigan?” He had just unloaded supplies and let off some volunteers in Haiti and was about to return to GRR empty. Wow, were we lucky! The crew treated us so well, we felt like rock stars! On top of all that, the second officer, Bill, drove us to the car rental place in GRR in the snow.
I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the warmth and kindness of Amway. I have a powerpoint presentation with lots of pics from my week in the field hospital on the PAP airport grounds (a true war-zone with 24/7 incoming injuries). I also have an 8-minute movie. Both the powerpoint and the movie have many shots of the Amway flight back. I’d like to share them with the wonderful pilots and onboard mechanic that gave us such TLC. I will never forget their kindness. I think one of them might have been a Brian or something, then the mechanic was a Blair or something, and we definitely remember Bill. Can someone help me locate them and tell me how I could give a copy of my pics and video to them and to Amway PR?
Eternally grateful,
