Think “Dancing with the Stars,” Canadian-style. Which, of course, means on ice.
On Sunday, October 4, the Battle of the Blades television series, a seven-week elimination-style reality show that pairs former NHL’ers with elite female figure skaters, hits Canadian television. Each week, the pairs compete until only one is left standing.
What does this have to do with Amway? Not only do we find it entertaining that hockey greats like Claude Lemieux and Bob Probert are trading in their skates and sticks for sequins, but also, Artistry Skin Care and Cosmetics is an official sponsor and will be used backstage each week to make the contestants camera-ready.
In the end, $100,000 will go to a Canadian charity such as Make-A-Wish, the Diabetes Hope Foundation or Wounded Warriors. And that makes us feel all warm inside.
